The Toxics Use Reduction Institute Aerospace/Defense Industry Supply Chain Conference: Chemicals of Concern and Safer Solutions

Download Type: Adobe PDF

This conference is for representatives from across the aerospace/defense industry supply chain, from OEMs to solution formulators to metal finishers, and will deliver useful information about challenges facing the industry and solutions that are emerging.

The Aerospace and Defense industry requires that all parts used in the products they manufacture and use be highly reliable under extreme conditions and over long periods of time. To do this, the supply chain for this industry adheres to very specific process requirements. Many of the processes employed have traditionally relied on the use of toxic heavy metals, including hexavalent chromium and cadmium, to meet the stringent industry specifications. Both hexavalent chromium and cadmium have been designated as highly hazardous substances in Massachusetts because of their known high toxicity to humans and the environment.

This conference is for representatives from across the aerospace/defense industry supply chain, from OEMs to solution formulators to metal finishers, and will deliver useful information about challenges facing the industry and solutions that are emerging.

Join us on September 24, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center in Sturbridge, Mass. A sponsored networking reception will occur immediately following the conference.

Cost for the day is $200 for professionals employed at companies that file under TURA and $250 for all others. Certified TUR Planners can receive 6 credits, which may be submitted to DEP for recertification. You may attend either the morning or afternoon session alone, including lunch, for $125 (3 credits for TUR Planners).
