Metal Finishing Launches First Webinar

As you may know, Metal Finishing complements this magazine with electronic media solutions that deliver essential information to readers in a variety of formats (i.e., e-newsletters, Web site). We are now pleased to introduce a new medium this month that combines the immediacy of the Internet with the impact of the latest Web-viewing technology.

On Thurs., Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. EST, Metal Finishing—in association with DUX Area, Inc.—is launching its first Webinar. The 60-minute program, which will focus on how new green spray technology can reduce emissions and increase profits for surface finishers, will be moderated by Ron Joseph, Metal Finishing’s organic coatings editor. It will also include three panelists representing different parts of the supply chain: Matt Carlson, vice president of marketing at DUX; Jeff Edmondson, president, Advanced Finishing Systems; and Mitch Behrens, president, “The Fry Pan Man,” a division of Continental Coating Corp.

How does it work? A Webinar, in basic terms, is short for a Web-based seminar. It is similar in scope to a conference room-based program, only participants access the presentation through their Web browser and view/listen to the program via their PC. A key feature of our Webinar Series is its interactive elements: You will have the ability to receive information and pose questions to the panel online, whether you watch the program live or “on-demand” from the Metal Finishing Web site. What’s more, you have the ability to view the Webinar from anywhere in the world; all you need is a computer and Internet connection.

Our objective in developing these online seminars is to provide strategic advice, lively panel debate, and critical business information to surface finishers. Our editorial team will work with participating sponsors to develop hot topics for debate and identify relevant speakers. I’m sure you’ll find our Webinar Series to be highly interactive, which enhances your experience and generates research information you can apply to your business.

Please take a moment to visit www.metalfinishing.com/webinars to sign up for the event, which is free of charge. Once you register for the program, you’ll receive a link from us that provides instant access to the live event. If you are unable to attend the live presentation, you can view the program on our Web site for up to six months after the event has aired.

I hope you will join me in what promises to be a lively and informative discussion on this very hot topic!
