We Have a lot to be Thankful for
The Holiday Season is upon us—a time for counting our many blessings. For Metal Finishing, it’s time to give thanks to our loyal advertisers and readers who have supported us during the year.
But there is one “other” important group of people that deserve recognition. These are the folks who work behind the scenes in bringing you the most comprehensive trade publication in the surface finishing industry.
I’ll start off by recognizing Reginald Tucker. Since Reg joined us as editor in July 2006, he was instrumental in spearheading our redesign, refining our editorial focus and the managing print and online content. Reg’s former “right hand,” Patti Ann Frost, was a staple at our magazine for more than 30 years and played a major role in recruiting prominent authors to publish their works in the magazine. Patti Ann recently left the magazine and has relocated to North Carolina. We thank her for all her valuable contributions.
Eileen McNulty, our sales operations coordinator, has been with us even longer than Patti Ann! She is the model employee, always willing to lend a helping hand to any team member. Sue Canalizo is our production manager/art director, and the person you can thank for Metal Finishing’s reader-friendly page layout and design—not to mention managing the creative for our other print products.
Then there’s Jason Awerdick, our sales and editorial support manager, who has a hand in virtually every product we produce. Jason is also MF’s project manager for the SUR/FIN marketing campaign and helps manage our website, e-newsletter, and provides support for a host of other programs.
Helena Stewart, our marketing/circulation manager, is largely responsible for coming up with the game plan to promote and support our online/print programming and managing our circulation—which is no easy task. Then there are our sales managers, Bill Dey and Larry Post, who have been mainstays at the magazine for more than 13 and 19 years, respectively. Both have forged strong relationships with many industry members and are instrumental in gaining support for our print and online businesses.
Last but certainly not least, I want to thank Ron Joseph for his efforts as our organic coatings editor. Ron is one of the most respected editors covering the paint/powder coatings industry and is directly responsible for coordinating our technical coverage in this area.
I’m very proud of our team, whose efforts reinforce Metal Finishing as your “go-to” source for the latest in technical and business information.
And on that note, I’ll conclude by wishing everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
