Q: What type of cleaner tends to be most effective at removing particulate soils from stainless steel?
This depends on several factors, including post cleaning operations, available floor space, waste treatment considerations, level of cleanliness and corrosion inhibition. However, in my experience, I would suggest an alkaline spray wash where the hot alkaline (pH greater than 9.0) solution is introduced to the parts as they rotate through a helical drum and all surfaces are impinged with the chemical solution.

Q: What is the best recommended method for removing particulate soils and smut from steel parts?
Because stainless steel does not present rust and corrosion concerns after the cleaning operation, an acidic cleaner can be extremely effective, especially when used with the cavitation action provided with ultrasonic transducers.
