Coating 2005 Implements Changes for Conference and Show

Trade shows must implement change in order to best meet the needs of both attendees and exhibitors. That was the thinking behind several important changes recently announced by organizers of Coating 2005, a trade show geared towards end users of industrial coatings.

In response to attendees who requested more time on the show floor that does not conflict with conference sessions, Coating 2005 will feature an entire afternoon--six hours--where the show floor will be "unopposed." In other words, there will be no other conference programming or activity during that time period. "Our attendees have told us they want to be able to attend all the conference sessions, but they also need more time with exhibitors," explained Coating 2005 Show and Conference Manager Anne Goyer.

She noted that exhibitors have been asking for more time when the exhibits and the conference did not overlap. "We’re listening because we want Coating 2005 to give exhibitors and attendees everything they want from the event."

To allow for the same amount of conference programming as in the past, the technical conference will begin on Monday afternoon instead of Tuesday morning. Tuesday will bring a half-day of conference sessions in the morning, followed by an afternoon when the show floor will be open with no overlapping educational sessions from noon to 6 p.m. "This allows us to offer the same amount of educational programming over the course of the week and yet provide the unopposed hours needed on the show floor," Goyer noted.

Coating 2005 will be held Sept. 19 to 22 in Indianapolis. For information on registration, exhibiting and accommodations, contact Goyer Management at (513) 624-9988, or visit www.thecoatingshow.com.
