2007 Surface Finishing Industry
Report Unveiled
The National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF) has announced the release of the 2007 Surface Finishing Market Research Board (SFMRB) Industry Market Survey. The highly anticipated report—which focuses on NAFTA market trends—includes data from the world’s major metal finishing chemical suppliers and the largest North American job-shop platers.
The 2007 SFMRB report, which spans 60 pages, marks the tenth survey that NASF has conducted since 1995. The purpose of the survey, according to the association, is to define the current size of the NAFTA metal finishing chemical and electroplating services markets. In addition, the report includes information on the size of the various North American plater markets and employment, trends of plating processes, and end-user markets, as well as the major challenges facing the industry.
“Everything you can think of was put in this report,” said Enthone’s Terry Copeland, who—along with MacDermid and Atotech—was instrumental in the data-gathering process. “It contains information every job shop will need.” According to Copeland, 87% of suppliers responded to the survey, compared to 28% of job shops.
For a copy of the report, please contact NASF headquarters at 1155 Fifteenth St., NW, Suite 500, Washington, D.C. 20005; Tel. (202) 457-8404. The cost of the 2007 SFMRB report is $350 for members, $1,500 for non-members. (Note: Those companies that submitted data for the survey are entitled to a $50 discount off the price.
