Exhibitors ‘Wired’ at '08 IPC Printed Circuits Expo

From the opening awards ceremony to the bustling show floor, attendees and exhibitors alike had high marks for the recent IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX, and the Designers Summit, held April 1–3 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas. In fact, according to event organizers, the show exceeded many exhibitors’ expectations.

“This hasn’t happened since the ’90s,” said Leo van de Vall, president & CEO of Assembléon America, Inc., who sold six machines right off the show floor and secured a big order from Mara Technologies in Canada for their new factory. “Right from the first day there was a lot of excitement.”

Klaus Heimann, president of FKN Systek, was especially glad to see the brisk business despite of all the recent depressing economic news. “It certainly wasn’t on the floor,” he said. “We more than doubled our leads!”

"The IPC PCB Expo was a great success this year," said Mark Jankowski, vice president of sales and marketing, printed circuit products, for MacDermid. "The Las Vegas location proved to be a great draw, and the Mandalay Bay was an excellent convention center for our show.  Based on the attendance, the show floor activity and customer feedback, this was the best IPC Expo in eight or nine years. We're all looking forward to next year's follow-up."

(IPC APEX EXPO will return to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, March 29–April 2, 2009.)
