ABMyr Industries Shutting its Doors

After 88 years in business, ABMyr is closing its operations.

ABMyr Industries, a provider of precision-machined products for the automotive, aerospace, appliance, agriculture, and general manufacturing sectors, is shutting its doors after 88 years in business, Metal Finishing has learned.

ABMyr, based in Belleville, Mich., specialized in paint finishing systems, metal fabrication prototyping and production, and air ventilation systems. Its service offering included 3D engineering services, washers and ovens, both wet and powder paint booths, automated line controllers, laser cutting, bending, braking, forming, assembly, as well as problem resolution and optimization.

In late 2008 ABMyr Industries, a family-owned company, invested more than $2 million to build and equip a 50,000-square-foot metal fabrication, prototyping and production center within its facility in Belleville. At the time, the expansion was projected to create more than 30 jobs by 2011. ABMyr had been the longest-standing member in the Associated Metal Fabricators and Engineers Association.
