Metal Finishing Magazine To Conduct Webinar on “The Forensic Analysis of Coating Failures”

20 August 2009

Metal Finishing continues its online webinar series with a presentation on the “Forensic Analysis of Coating Failures.” The webinar will be moderated by Ron Joseph, Metal Finishing's organic editor, and a full-time paint and coatings consultant.

Throughout the “Forensic Analyses of Coating Failures Webinar, Metal Finishing’s  Ron Joseph will enlighten listeners and viewers about the most common instruments he uses in investigations. These discussions will include: stereomicroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and other techniques. Joseph also plans to review some of the paint failures he has analyzed and will present evidence to show how one can identify the root cause of a paint failure.

Details on the launch date for the webinar will be announced on Metal Finishing’s website. In the interim, listeners can preview a sampling of the topics that will be covered in the webinar.
